For me, the difference between APP2 and APP3 are not subtle at all, I’d call it night and day difference . My ears hurt after couple of minutes wearing APP3 (yes, tried with all tip sizes!), tried APP2 – ordered them and returning APP3.
Please review the latest firmware update released in February 2026 for the Technics AZ100 (v1.040).
Personally, I’m not satisfied with the new update and would like to revert to the previous version (v1.030). In my opinion, the warm signature sound has diminished — the immersive feel, thickness, layering, and openness are much less noticeable. The deep yet controlled bass also feels reduced. It seems like the tuning was adjusted to be more similar to the AirPods Pro 2/3, with vocals and highs made more prominent and emphasized.
I would like to roll back to v1.030 and continue using the previous default preset (Vocal), which I found to be perfect for my ears.
For me, the most important feature is a stable fit. If an earbud is constantly needing to be adjusted or keeps falling out, then it’s a total fail regardless of how good it sounds or how good the noise canceling is
Don’t buy NOTHING ear buds. Horrible battery life. Im disgusted to say this cause I genuinely love the sound quality and the overall product, but Battery life is beyond pathetic. The company doesn’t care and won’t do anything about it. Mines (admitely the left piece) lasts 1.5 hour before diying and they only 1.5 year old…..
Your battery rating is kinda bullsh’t.
Not just that the Sennheiser and Technics have the exact same stats, but a 0.6 points difference, but then you have the Nothing Buds, with objectively better battery stats being almost 2 points lower. How dafuq are you testing this stuff?!?
