1. Headphones are as good as they are going to get. All I can hear is a pitch to get me to part with more money. Everyone wants the best noise-cancelling headphones that actually reduce sound quality. In my opinion, the best way to improve the sound is to stop listening to music on your phone, & chose a high-res audio player instead. I had a good set of headphones, but one day I received a message on my older iPhone that the headphones app was no longer supported with this device. I decided right then that this would never happen again, so I bought a Sony high-res audio player. This decision wasn’t initially about sound quality; it was about not being beholden to tech giants whose only concern is revenue. Buying the latest Sony Walkman (yes, Sony still call it the Walkman, & why wouldn’t they) made financial sense, I get to keep the headphones I love, & a one TB micro SD is a lot cheaper than an iPhone SSD. The difference between a 256GB iPhone SSD and a 1TB is £400, and the jump to a 2TB is £800. Intently, by only requiring the smallest SSD, I had £400 to put towards my Sony player, & by the way, that £400 would be every iPhone upgrade, when my 1TB micro SD was a one-time purchase of a little over £100. This was a no-brainer; I get a much better-sounding player, and the money I save will pay for it in time. I transfer music via content transfer, but I did have an issue with missing album artwork. I solved this with Tag Editor 2. The free version only lets you save up to three tracks at a time. It is time-consuming, but buying for 1 week or 1 month is available. The method of Content Transfer isn’t as good as Apple’s synchronisation, but I am happy because I have a much better sound, and it will pay for itself, and let’s not forget, I get to choose when to replace my headphones, not when app providers take the app away from me. I asked myself, Why has Apple discontinued the iPod, the answer is, they can control when you need to upgrade, so they can sell you expensive SSDs & unnecessarily expensive headphones. I had to upgrade my iPhone eventually because my bank discontinued the older app. If they do this againI will change banks, but at least I didn’t need to spend £400 extra on a 1TB SSD device. It may seem I have gone off the point of this review, but I really haven’t. The reason most people think they need to upgrade their headphones is that they are not satisfied with the quality of sound. If you have bought a brand that is well-established for making headphones, the problem is likely to be the source, not the headphones. On the subject of noise-cancelling, it has some way to go to reach perfection, because no one has developed it yet to cancel Oasis. Lol.
